1986

In summer, at the invitation of Mr. Nikkyo Niwano，president of Japanese Nissho Kosei Association, Master Zhen Chan went to Japan to develop Buddhism. Later, he went to Seoul to attend the Third Peaceful Conference of Asian Buddhists.

1987

Crown Prince of Thailand visited the monastery.

Master Zhen Chan joined the Buddhist service delegation formed by Shanghai Longhua Monastery and Beijing Guangji Monastery to hold a grand ceremony for saving sentient being at land and in water in the Dharma Realm Buddhist Association of Damo Town, California in U.S.A.

1988

In spring, the first lady of Brazil visited the monastery.

In April, Master Zhen Chan was elected committee member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

In summer, Master Zhen Chan was appointed the honorary president of Shanghai Children's Home and set up the “Master Zhen Chan Welfare Funds for Disabled and Handicapped Children”.

Master Zhen Chan led Shanghai Buddhist delegation to visit Hong Kong and Singapore.

In autumn, at the invitation of Master Xing Yun, Master Zhen Chan attended the 16th Sodality of World Buddhists held in Los Angeles, U.S.A. and paid visits to Mexico, Canada, Japan and Hong Kong.
