China Buddhist Association, chaired
the seminar of national Buddhist education
for Han phylum in Shanghai. He came
to visit the monastery and gave instructions.
In August, deputy-minister
of Foreign Affairs Ministry of Pakistan
visited the monastery.
In September, chief
of the general affairs department
of Tiantai Sect in Korea visited the
monastery.
At invitation of
Master Xuan Hua in the Dharma Realm
Buddhist Association in San Francisco,
U.S.A., Master Zhen Chan went to America
to teach disciplines.
President of Bengal
Parliament visited the monastery.
Chairman of Japanese
Broadcasting Association visited the
monastery.
In October, the monastery
held the 110th anniversary ceremony
of the founding of the monastery.
More than 2,000 people attended the
ceremony, including leaders at all
levels in Shanghai, elder masters
from all monasteries, monks and lay
Buddhists.
Secretary of Social
Welfare Department in Burma visited
the monastery.
In November, Master
Zhen Chan was made concurrently the
abbot of Daxiangguo Monastery in Kaifeng,
Henan Province.
