In December, a group led by Master Xing Yun from Taiwan visited the monastery.

The monastery performed a seven-day activity of explaining sutras and ended on the day of Winter Solstice.

The Buddhist music orchestra of the Jade Buddha Monastery was formally set up.

The monastery held “a memorial ceremony of handing on offerings for the 5th anniversary of the passing away of Master Zhen Chan”,and “a memorial seminar”and “a Buddhist music concert”.

In January, the deputy minister of Sri Lanka Buddhist Ministry visited the Jade Buddha Monastery.

The monastery donated 200,000 yuan to Shanghai Charity Foundation to help poor families and high school students.

Master Jue Xing attended the 4th plenary session of the 11th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress.

In February, a group of 9 members led by the minister of the Canadian International Trade Ministry visited the monastery.

A group of 5 members led by the chief procurator of Zambia visited the monastery.

In March, Elder Master Ren Jun from USA visited the monastery and gave a speech on a special subject.
