 In
March 2003, he was elected member of the tenth
CPPCC. In November 2003, he was elected chairman
of Shanghai Buddhist Association.
Master Jue Xing always upholds
the principle of “love of country and Buddhism”,
follows the Party’s policy of religious freedom,
actively shows concern for the social stability
and prosperity, and participates enthusiastically
the cause of the national modernization. He has
successfully received presidents and senior officials
from different countries throughout the world,and
has strengthened the exchanges and friendship
activities with compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao
and Taiwan. He has also paid visits to many countries
and regions in Asia, America and Europe. He devotes
himself to the dissemination of the Party’s policy
of religious freedom and the development of the
socialist modernization.
Master Jue Xing shows special
care for the weak and disabled people and works
for their benefit and welfare. And he works hard
for the social stability and prosperity in Shanghai
as well as the whole country, as he is vice chairman
of Shanghai Charity Foundation, honorary chairman
of Shanghai Children’ Home, and advisor of Shanghai
Aged People Foundation.
For the Buddhist development,
he advocates inheritance of the long and excellent
tradition of Buddhist development in the human
world, actively studies the ways and methods of
Buddhist adaptation to socialist society. He sponsored
and presided over symposiums, such as “Buddhist
Conformity to Socialist Society”, “Monasteries
in Cities and Buddhism in Human World”. These
topics are relevant to the situation nation-wide,
and win praises and attention from people both
in and out of the Buddhist circle.
