After
the concert, Master Jue Xing declared
that Jade Buddha Monastery would donate
2 million yuan to Shanghai Charity
Foundation in commemoration and inheritance
of Master Zhen Chan¡¯s persistent spirit
of pity and compassion and set up
the ¡°Master Zhen Chan Fund for Assistance
to People in Poverty and Difficulty¡±.
Master Jue Xing, the young abbot of
the Jade Buddha Monastery, one of
China¡¯s well-known Buddhist monasteries,
showed himself in a public activity
once again. The 31 year-old Jue Xing
surely attracted public interest and
attention.
He Comes
from the Bohai Gulf
Jue Xing was born
in May 1970 in a family devoted to
Buddhist belief on the Bohai Gulf
of Huludao City, Liaoning Province.
Because his grandmother burnt incense
and worshipped Buddha every day, Jue
Xing, a child, always followed his
grandmother and did the same. Up to
now, Jue Xing can still remember the
day his grandmother took him to worship
Buddha in Shanghai Jade Buddha Monastery
after a long journey. On that day,
Masters Neng Yi, Guang Xing and other
old ones in the monastery showed special
interest in little Jue Xing, touched
his ears and held his hands and asked
him whether he would like to be a
monk. Especially after he saw the
perfect glorious and solemn jade Buddha,
a vague idea to be a monk in the Jade
Buddha Monastery haunted him.
After return to Huludao
City, Jue Xing was no longer satisfied
with kowtow and worshipping Buddhas,
and he became interested in the study
of Buddhism.
