Devotion
of His Heart and Soul to People and
Buddhism ------
Interview with Master Jue Xing, Abbot
of the Jade Buddha Monastery |
| |
| Following
Albright¡¯s tone, Master Jue Xing said,
¡°China has always reported American
politics, economics, society and religions
objectively and even when I was a
child, I could get to know what was
happening in America. On the Contrary,
the U.S mass media have kept reporting
that the people in China have no civil
rights, no democracy, no freedom in
religious beliefs and describing China
as a poor and backward place but few
reports about the changes taking place
in China. This is the exact reason
why you as well as the officials and
American people feel barriers to touch
authentic China. I hope that Ms. Albright
will bring my suggestions to the news
agencies in the U.S and wish them
picture a real China and report China
in a objective, unbiased, realistic
and factual way.¡±
Ms. Albright declared
immediately that was the purpose for
her to visit China and also the purpose
for the American religious delegation
to come to visit China. Master Jue
Xing has demonstrated his excellent
diplomatic talents in helping to leave
a real and complete image of Chinese
Buddhism and the flourishing China
after the open policy to the world
with his diplomatic receptions.
Once a foreign jaurnalist
asked Master Jue Xing the difference
between the Buddhists yesterday and
today. Master Jue Xing answered that
the purpose of the prayer has turned
to that of the spiritual balance and
comfort rather than the pursuit of
satisfaction with the material living.
With people better educated, more
intellectuals have become the Buddhist
followers. They turned to be Buddhist
followers because they have a great
respect to Buddha and they are curious
about the Buddhist culture.
The foreigner visitor
asked him continually through what
way they deliver their Buddhist teachings.
