| The Hall of the Four Deva-kings |
Among
the four deva-kings, the happiest is well known
Vaisravana of the North guardian. It is said that
he and the Srimaha-devi are husband and wife (or
brother and sister). In ancient India, he is a
god to give happiness and guard wealth of Buddhism.
And he is also called the deva-king of giving
wealth. In the ancient Indian myth, he is a guardian
of North as well as a god of great wealth. Therefore,
he has the more disciples than the rest three
deva-kings.
Now, the sculptures of
the four deva-kings are based on the description
in the novel Canonization of Gods. The
four deva kings hold wind, tune, rain and success
respectively, which means they will bring people
good luck.
